We are a gathering of diverse artists centered in Merritt, B.C., which lies in the Thompson-Nicola Valley. We come from a variety of backgrounds and each of us brings something artistically and personally unique to this group. Among us are painters, pencil and charcoal artists, sculptors, carvers, photographers, and digital artists of all ages and levels of skill.

18th Annual Valley Visual Art Show & Sale

RESULTS

 The successful 18th annual Valley Visual Artists show and sale provided attendees  a wide range of mediums and subject matter to view as well as illustrated the artistic talent of members of the Nicola Valley club.

Those attending the show were invited to choose their favourite pieces of art. Best In Show went to Fran McMurchy for her watercolour painting titled “Shoreline Meadows”. Fran also took second place with her four miniature apple paintings titled “Orchard” done in acrylic with Bev Veale receiving third place with her pencil sketch of “Shandi”.

The club also held a Tooney Draw offering seven donated items with the following results:

Many thanks to Shirley Sauviat and her crew for hanging the art and managing the show and sale; to Sharon Hartwick who provided pleasant music on her beautiful harp; to Cecilia Dyck and her pianists (Jensen Cavaliere, Sarah Grund, Gabby and Haley Zabek) as well as Sophia Hartwick for their entertainment during the reception.
